About me

Isabella Mancin Cattaneo is a musician and flute player born in Italy. Before moving to the Netherlands in 2021, she studied flute at the Conservatorio G. Cantelli in Novara (Italy) where she got her bachelor’s degree.

She took part in many flute competitions: 1st prize at the “III Concorso Flautistico Nazionale 2019” in Venezia; 2nd prize “Xth International competition for young musicians 2020”; Semi-finals at the Dutch International Flute Competition 2023.

She gained experience in various orchestral training courses (“Rotary International District 5340 MusiCamp” in San Diego 2019, “Professione orchestra” organised by Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale della Rai di Torino 5-10 October 2020 and “Filarmonica Teatro Regio di Torino” 2019-2020). She participated in masterclasses held by great flutists such as M° Michele Marasco, M° Mario Caroli and M° Felix Renggli.

She dedicates herself to various chamber music groups and genres (from baroque works to contemporary experimental pieces), she cultivates her passion for teaching by actively teaching to pupils of different ages. She plays in professional Orchestras: as second flute substitute in Het Noord Nederland Orkest in season 2021/2022 and 2022/2023; as third flute with piccolo in Noordpool Orkest, season 2023. She won the position as academist in Het Noord Nederlands Orkerst for the season 2022/2023 which makes orchestral playing a significant role in her repertoire as well.
